It’s no longer a secret that businesses are struggling to stay afloat due to the epidemic that continues to wreak havoc not only here in Hong Kong but across the globe. The recently launched Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) created a D-Biz Programme to provide financial support to businesses that offer their products and services remotely/online during the epidemic.
Objectives of D-Biz Programme
The programme is designed to provide enough funding support to these enterprises through fast-track processing to enable them to adopt the IT solutions required to provide services during this period. Currently, Hong Kong Productivity Council is the primary Secretariat of the programme.
Funding Amount
D-Biz Programme will provide a maximum of HK$ 100,000 to cater to each Information Technology solution and employee training expenses. The training cost is capped at 10% of the total cost of the IT solution. The qualified enterprise may receive up to HK$ 3000,000 for a project that should be completed within six months.
Once the application is approved, the business will get 30% of the total funding amount. The remaining amount will be disbursed after the successful completion of the project and approval of all supporting documents related to the project.
Funding Eligibility and Application
Eligibility
Apart from private enterprises that are publicly listed as companies, non-government organizations, and statutory bodies, all other private businesses that have a valid Business Registration Certificate are eligible for D-Biz Programme funding.
The business should also have been registered and operational before 1 January 2020. The business should also have a significant footing or business operation in the industry related to the project indicated in the application document.
The application will last for six months, that is, from 4 May 2020 to 31 October 220.

As mentioned earlier, the main objective of this program is to help sustain the business during this epidemic.
